Still Waiting….
April 20th, 2010
His strong arms clasped the top of his head, pushing it downward with each pulsating sob.
“God, where are You? We have so little money and my son is ill. The people in my village are depending on me. My missionary friends, who promised to come, still are not here. Where are You, God?”
“My son, I know the plans I have for you, plans of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. (Jeremiah 29:11) Trust Me.”
Daniel Doe is a man of courage and vision. His heart is set on carrying on his father’s work with the Zlankunwoan Baptist Association of Churches in Liberia. So much of the work his father started in the village of Zeongehn had been destroyed by war, and progress had reverted to ground zero. The villagers were left poor and struggling for survival. Outside help was very little, and at times even nonexistent.
When Pastor Enoch Glaybo, Gary, and I visited Zeongehn (in Lower Nimba County of Liberia, West Africa), news of our arrival spread like wildfire. Songs of praise to God echoed from village to village. “God has remembered us; God has remembered us!”
But it has now been over a year since Gary and I were there. The villagers are STILL WAITING for us….And we are waiting on God. Is it possible that God might want to use you to help us return?
