Praise the Lord God Almighty
October 3rd, 2009
“Praise our Lord God, O Peoples. let the sound of His praise be heard; He has preserved our lives and kept our feet from slipping!” Psalm 66:8,9
God is awesome, magestic, and purifying. Though Gary and I often do not understand His dealings with us, yet He remains True and Faithful.
Such has been our experience during these past months. We have been thrown into the midst of constant change, at times not knowing which way to turn; but God has always been dirrecting, guiding, and smiling at us in all His radiance and glory.
Let me take you through a senario of the past six months. Ruth arrives from Africa to the USA at the end of February 2009, going to California for the birth of her daughter’s first baby. Gary arrives in the USA about two months later.
Ruth settles with family in Southern Arizona, while Gary stays with friends in the northern part of the state (where our mobile home and vehicle were parked) to take care of important matters. One month later, Gary and Ruth are finally reunited, but only with temporary housing arrangements.
God gives Gary a job with an electric company in Phoenix (a miracle in the midst of recession). After a month on the job and a paycheck, Gary and Ruth are able to move their mobile home into a trailer park in Phoenix.
Several weeks later, Gary is unexpectantly sent off to Asia on a business assignment. Ruth travels to California to visit more of her family.
Another six weeks later, Gary lands back on US soil, and we are reunited once again in our mobile home. For two solid weeks, Gary and I enjoy the pleasure of being together in our own place. Then suddenly, off to Asia Gary is appointed again—for almost another entire month!
Gary has just recently returned. Now we are trying to get our bearings straight, experience some normality of life, and solidify our focus. Thank you for being patient with us.
We love you all. Ruth and Gary Luukkonen
