Thank you, Dear Pastor

Talk about giving us his very best— the chief of the village where we stayed in Upper Lofa County, who is our Pastor Nanning’s brother, gave Gary and me his room to stay in for as long as we needed!  He and his lovely wife shared another room with their children.  Gary and I felt loved.

Most mornings we woke up to the singing of women in chorus as they pounded their rice in sync, beautiful music to my ears.  Then the sparkly voice of a teenage mother would resound as her charming face popped into our open window.  In her dialect (I deciphered what she meant by her gestures) she would ask, “Do you have any clothes I could wash for you?”  Gary and I felt so loved.

Minutes later our pastor himself would knock on the door, “Gary, let’s take our exercise and go for a morning walk.”  Later each morning Pastor Nanning’s sister would bring us some breakfast, cooked over an outside open fire.  We really felt loved. 

Thank you dear Pastor Nanning, for taking Gary and me to your village and to your people.  What a beautiful memory we shall forever have of your family’s love and generosity.

The Night is Coming

(John 9:4)  Jesus said, “I [we] must work the works of Him who sent Me while it is day; THE NIGHT IS COMING when no one can work.”

(John 16:2,3)  “YES, THE TIME IS COMING” Jesus said, “that whoever kills you will think that he offers God service. And these things they will do to you because they have not known the Father nor Me.”

(Ephesians 5:15,16)  See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise, REDEEMING THE TIME, because the days are evil.

(Galatians s 6:9,10)  And let us not grow weary in doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we DO NOT LOSE HEART.  Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all, especially to those who are of the household of faith.
