In Answer to My Prayer

God answered my prayer the other day, not in the way I had hoped but in the way He felt was best for me. Our car had broken down again! Early that morning, we had walked five miles to use the internet access at ELWA. Then our computer crashed “God, what should I do? Time is precious to me!”
With my fellow Liberian Kathryn, I prayed that God would solve my computer problem. In response, God sent me our Liberian friend Morris. When he came, I was hoping the computer could be restored; but that did not happen because of many complications. Instead God provided strength for me as I rested on the sofa of my Liberian friend Nene.
That afternoon Gary and I proceeded to the internet café to use their computers. Quickly I sent all my files by attachment to my family, only to find out they had received the messages as gibberish! That was all I could bear; I had been at the internet almost the entire day with nothing accomplished. I was very tired and extremely hungry! Tears began to well inside my eyes until every word in front of me faded in mist.
I closed my eyes, “God, what do You want me to do now?”
Then God sent my daughter-in-law Margaret to me via the chat line. She listened to me patiently as I unburdened, and encouraged me. Cautiously, Margaret opened all my files to test if they were safe to forward, and resent them in readable form to all of my family. Bingo, mission accomplished!
Awaiting us with a big smile was our Liberian friend Stephen. He volunteered to drive us home so that we would not have to walk another five miles in the hot afternoon sun!
