The Saga of Old Nissan Sunny

I would like to tell you the story of ‘Old Nissan Sunny’, who thinks he is a ‘Grand Jeep Cherokee’.
To begin his day, Old Nissan takes a bath. Three playful children splash buckets of soapy water against his muddy sides and buff his body with wads of clean rags. Under the hood, his rusty joints are lubricated with oil and his hot dry bones are refreshed with cool water. Then the kindly driver sits inside, grabs the steering wheel, turns on the engine, and asks the children for a starting push down the hillside.
“Yeah, we’re off,” gleefully shouts Old Nissan. ‘Bumpty, bump’ as fast as he can, speeds Old Nissan around giant potholes, through mud and rain, across flooded roads, up rocky hills, and around sharp bends. ‘Clankety, clank’ goes Old Nissan as his wheels whiz across the wet jungle. “I can make it, I know I can because I am a four-wheel drive; in fact, I am a Grand Jeep Cherokee!” he proudly proclaims. His limbs are shaking and his bones are creaking but he just keeps on going.
But alas, his illusion is shattered when his old body come to a screeching halt. A group of helpful bystanders help push him to the roadside for emergency repair. Day after day, this is the saga of poor Old Nissan Sunny. For no matter how much he thinks he is a four-wheel drive, he is not.
So, a person cannot become a Christian merely by THINKING or TRYING to be one. Instead, he or she must be TRANSFORMED by the Lord Jesus Christ who is the Beloved Son of God!
The Bible say, “If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold all things have become new!”
