Liberia, I Believe in You!
March 30th, 2006
I remember you, Liberia, during the time of President Tubman; I was a teenager then. The President’s Mansion was a beautiful sight to behold! I used to venture to downtown Monrovia with my Liberian friends; we would stop at a Lebonese shop for an ice cream cone. Then there were those gorgeous beaches along the Atlantic ocean with all its stately palm trees. The city was a hub of commerce; all around me were smiling faces and sounds of chatter. Then came the civil war—what sadness, what destruction, what tragedy. I know because II was there……But now, Liberia, you have a new opportunity to return to the past—–but even better than before! You have a good president, a good land; and you are a good people. I believe in you, Liberia.

Yes indeed, those were good ‘ol days, Ruthie! I was just thinking about them a few minutes ago and remembering the sweet growing up years.
Our love and prayers are there to support you and Gary and hopefully one day soon, we will be able to support you.
I love you, sis.
